My newest book is titled And God Was Pleased: Biblical Principles of Creating Christian Success, and in it
I encourage and inspire other believers to rethink their lives in terms of how pleasing they are to God.
The book came about because of my own struggles with defining success - not as more and better things, but as a more worthy and holy life.
I've been a writer for nearly 25 years, and my credits include everything from books and magazines to ghost-writing, promotional scripts, corporate communications and even documentation and exhibit guides for a museum or two.
I became a Christian in junior high, but, like a lot of people, fell away from organized religion as I got older. It's ironic, really, that at the times when we need God the most, so many of us seek Him the least. Anyway, God was patient, and He was there waiting for me when I came to my senses.
I have a beautiful family and love them dearly. They are my biggest fans and best cheerleaders, and continue to inspire and challenge me to new heights, both personally and professionally.
As American expats, we tend to move around on a fairly regular basis and have lived in the States as well as overseas in the Middle East and also in the South Pacific. I love learning about other people and cultures, so really enjoy all the opportunities the global job market has to offer.

Pleasing Moments is the place where I explore what it looks like to live to please God. And at Ava Writes, I share the experiences of being a Christian and a Christian writer as well as words of wisdom from other writers.
